Dear Swimmer:
Join us for an exciting experience at the Virginia Swim Camp. It's educational, it's fun, it's spirited, and it's rewarding! We eagerly look forward to hosting hundreds of swimmers from across the nation in our beautiful 50 meter facility, the Aquatics and Fitness Center at the University of Virginia.
We believe the Virginia Swim Camp continues to provide the most innovative and contemporary camping experience anywhere in the country. Session enrollment will continue to be limited to ensure quality instruction with a small coach-to-swimmer ratio.
Our staff is truly unique in its qualification and commitment to young men and women. Our coaches are proven professionals, each of whom possess the ability to demonstrate, to teach, and to motivate young men and women. While each staff member brings skills unique to his or her personality, all eagerly look forward to teaching, educating, and guiding the swimmer, for each small success experienced by a swimmer is a special moment for all of us.
During each week of camp, a pronounced emphasis will be placed on stroke, start, and turn techniques and mechanics. Daily video sessions with immediate playback will serve as an invaluable aid in diagnosing and dissecting each stroke. Further, an explanation of the scientific principles involved with swimming, weight training, nutrition, and physiologoy will be offered in seminar discussions. We will try to leave no stone unturned. We want to offer the best, most complete and comprehensive swimming experience available anywhere
Our camp includes among its graduates two Olympic Gold Medal winners and world record holders, NCAA champions and numerous NCAA and High School All-Americans. Additionally, we hope to again enjoy the pleasure of special visits either by former Olympians or USA National Team members.
Don't miss out on a great experience. Expand the limits of your abilities, have lots of fun and enjoy making new friends. Remember, all sessions fill to capacity, so please submit your applications and payment as soon as possible. Wishing you fast swims and fun times!
Sincerely,
Mark Bernardino
Camp Director
